Winnie Reid Nakamarra

Winnie Reid Nakamarra est née le 9 Août 1961 à Alice Springs. Elle vit dans la communauté de Kintore à la frontière entre les territoires du Nord et de l’ouest.

Winnie est la 3ème fille de Paddy Tjupurrula Reid et de Makinti Napanangka. Elle peint les rêves hérités de sa mère, une artiste très acclamée et reconnue dans le monde de la peinture australienne. Les sites que ses oeuvres décrivent incluent Lulpulnga, Kaakuratintja et Lampintja qui bordel a frontière ouiest du lac Macdonald. Les sujets incluent aussi le rêve de Mangarri (bush damper) Kungka Tjuta, (many women) et de Kuningka. (Quoll dreaming)

Family History: Winnie is the third daughter of Paddy Tjupurrula Reid and Makinti Napanangka.

She was born at Alice Springs hospital and grew up in Papunya soon after the community was established in the 1950’s. She now lives at the community of Kintore close to the NT / WA boarder.

Dreamings: Winnies mother Makinti was a highly acclaimed artist who started painting in the mid 1990’s.

Winnie paints the stories of her mother’s country which includes Lulpulnga, Kaakuratintja and Lampintja which lies on the southern edge of Lake Macdonald. The subject matter includes Mangarri (bush damper) Kungka Tjuta, (many women) and Kuningka. (Quoll dreaming)
