Georgina Kelly Napaltjarri

Georgina Kelly Napaltjarri est née le 16 septembre 1985 à Alice Springs. Elle est la fille de Ducie Kelly et la petite fille de Lily Kelly Napangati, une artiste très recherchée des collectionneurs. Lily et Dulcie ont appris les histoires de leur région à Georgina, les lacs salés, les dunes de sables ainsi que les « rêves » de femmes et les cérémonies qui leur sont associées. Sa peinture est très influencée par celle de Lily et aussi de sa mère.

Painting: Georgina Kelly Napaltjarri was born in 1985 in Alice Springs, the Northern Territory. She was taught how to paint by her grandmother Lilly Kelly Napangati and her mother Dulcie Kelly. Lilly and Dulcie taught Georgina stories of the land, salt lakes, sand dunes and women’s ceremonies.

Georgina paints aerial depictions of her country and while she is heavily influenced by her grandmother’s dot work, Georgina has followed more in her mother Dulcie’s style.
